Music Lessons

For the last fifteen years, I have developed a rich background in working with students one-on-one in piano and voice lessons.

My background in music is diverse and based in both academia and performance, having trained at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Classical Piano Performance, and receiving a Master of Arts in Theatre, Drama and Performance Studies from University of Toronto where I focused my research on the use of music in dramatic storytelling.

As a working musician, composer, and musical director, I have found a great deal of joy and fulfillment from teaching music privately to students of all ages and experience levels. As a teacher, I believe in tailoring each student’s lesson plan to their own personal needs and goals. This can include learning within a more structured, classical system; becoming more comfortable with playing by ear and learning to play or sing pop songs, film music, etcetera; developing confidence and performance skills, especially in younger children, by teaching singing in conjunction with dramatic performance; or any combination of the above! I believe in letting my students lead with their own interests, passions, and aspirations, in order to instill a lifelong love and appreciation of music and musical performance.

I am happy to offer online lessons to students across the world, and in-person lessons to students in Toronto’s West End. If you would like to learn more, please reach out using the form below, and include information about the student, any prior music experience, musical goals/interests, and whether you are looking for online or in-person lessons. Thank you!
